Collection: stop · food waste

We work with passion for food. That is why we implemented the rules of foodwaste.ch in our daily to save food.
Food which are still consumable are still sold with a bagde of how long you can still consume it.
Here a Checklist how to check your food:
Here the main rules for consuming food after expiration:
1. Buy only as much as you can use in time. Therefore, plan your shopping and think—at the latest before reaching for the shelf—whether you really need a product. A list or a shopping app makes life easier for you and your roommates.
2. Proper storage helps your food stay edible for longer: Follow the storage instructions on the packaging and keep perishable foods well refrigerated. Keep your fridge and kitchen cupboards tidy and clean. This helps you maintain an overview and protects food from spoiling. You can find storage tips for individual foods by using the search on the website Check the shelf life!
3. Food can often be enjoyed for longer than the date printed on the packaging. Instead of relying solely on the best-before date (“best before”), trust your senses: if the food still looks good after the date and smells pleasant, you can taste it to check whether it is still good. Foods with a use-by date (“use by”) should be eaten or frozen by the date printed on the package.
