Here is how we use Soysauce or Toyo in the Philippines:

Filipino Soy Sauce (Toyò)

  • Taste: Saltier, thinner, less complex.

  • Color: Dark.

  • Usage: Marinades (e.g., adobo), dipping sauces (with calamansi), general cooking.

  • Notes: Often mixed with vinegar or calamansi.
